About Second Missionary Baptist Church

Pastor and Linda

Pastor Isaac D. and 1st Lady Linda Parker

Minister Isaac D. Parker is the son of Isaac (deceased) and Barbara Parker of Kinloch Missouri. Baptized at the age of 7 years old by his grandfather (the late Minister James V. Outlaw) at the Friendship M.B. Church in Kinloch Missouri, under the pastorate of the late, Minister Ike Lodge. Pastor Parker would serve at Friendship Church from his earliest youth, to adulthood, at which time he enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he served for 3 years. It was during his military service time, that he would meet his “Love for a lifetime”, his wife Linda (of 40 years).

To this union where born (2) sons-Isaac (Marcea) and Paul, and (4) grandsons-Daniel, Isaac, Dallas, Dylan and a granddaughter, Kennedy. Upon being discharged from military service, Pastor Parker and family returned home and reunited with Friendship M.B. Church, under the pastorate of Minister William Richardson. At Friendship Church, Pastor Parker would come to serve as weekly Bible Study and Sunday-School teacher, Minister of Music, and in due time, February 1984; would make known to the church, that the Lord had charged him to preach the Gospel.

Pastor Parker was licensed to preach the Gospel in April 1984, by the Friendship Baptist Church, Kinloch Missouri, and after due preparation, along with the church’s observations; in May of 1990, after being examined in the manner of catechism (regarding the Christian faith, and doctrine), the ordination council would recommend him-ordained. After many years of service at Friendship Church (Minister of Music, Associate Minister, Interim Pastor, Sunday school and bible study teacher…); shortly following the death of Pastor Richardson, Pastor Parker and family joined the Second Baptist Church, of Kinloch Missouri, under the pastorate of Minister Earl Miller.

While serving at SBC-Kinloch, God provided opportunity for growth, personally and –spiritually; for through SBC, was occasion, to join the Antioch District Association and be chosen to facilitate an Association Leadership session class, and to further theological study through Midwestern Bible College: Christian Worship. There was also occasion to attend, Howard Thurman Bible College: Israel’s Religion, History and Theology; The Nature of God; Preparation for the Mystery of the Trinity. Pastor Parker and family would serve at SBC-Kinloch for approximately (4) years before sitting in a leadership class, taught by one-Pastor Julius Caesar Bonner IV, of the Pleasant Green M.B. Church, St. Louis Missouri. It would be through this providential (we believe) meeting of J.C. Bonner, that the Lord would send us our Pastor!

Eventually, Pastor Parker and family would join the Pleasant Green Baptist Church, where would render 14+ years of service. Our Pastor served as pulpit supply, Sunday School Teacher, Assistant to the Minister of Music, Choir Member; Male Chorus Music Director, Trustee Board Consultant, weekly Bible Study Teacher. Initiated an community outreach ministry “Praise in the Park”, initiated “M-Pact for Christ” prison ministry. In the spring of 2012, God sent us our Pastor/Teacher, Minister Isaac D. Parker, and his wife, Sister Linda G.Parker, for the edification of the church, and for the work of the ministry. May 20, 2012. Pastor Parker preached his first message as Pastor, and was later installed July 8, 2012. Our church family is richly blessed to have him not only as our shepherd, but also as an instructor of the Word of God for life and service to God, and each other.

We thank the Lord for the additions of our newer members, and the return of others. Our Minister is not only a motivating and uplifting speaker, he’s a passionate musician and vocalist. He and his wife, Linda have proven to be a dynamic duo, in that she too, is a gifted vocalist and speaker. We’ve seen our choirs greatly benefit from their guidance. Our Wednesday night Bible Study meetings have grown in attendance, with line by line consideration, and made plain application, the text of scripture is better understood. These are truly two gracious gifts from God, continuing to lead Second Missionary Baptist Church in the way of righteousness, through Christ Jesus, our Lord.

In August 2015, three men (chosen by the congregation, prepared by our Pastor) were ordained/installed to the office of Deacon. SBC has added a website that is an interactive teaching tool, developed a social media presence, inclusive of Facebook, Instagram and YouTube. We now have a media hub within the sanctuary that allows us to live stream, Morning Worship, Bible Study, and other events held at the church. The church is truly grateful for these enhancements. God is doing a Great Work!
